Installing Scripts
- Complete instructions for installing scripts are found on this page.
- It is VERY important that the setup.exe and the /clients/XXXX.exe files are both installed to have a complete set of scripts. Installing the update.exe file should only be done when there already is a full set of scripts on the computer.
- If installing the MySabre or Sabre Red applications on a new computer, or doing a new install of these applications on an existing computer, the SabreScribe application must be installed in order to run Sabre scripts. See below for more details specific to each application.
- If you make the Ctrl+A or Tools/Execute Sabre Script entry in Sabre and there is a blank window with no scripts listed, then you do not have the Sabre software installed that is required to run the scripts.
MySabre
- For a new MySabre install, you must
select SabreScribe when installing MySabre. This option is found in the Advanced
Summary section of the MySabre install application options. This will install
the Sabre software needed to run the scripts and will create the folder that the
Quick-Pro scripts are copied into.
- If you have not done this, when you try
to execute scripts, you will not see any scripts listed. The best way to install the SabreScribe application is to go to Start/All Programs/MySabre/Sabre Configurations/MySabre Advanced Setup/Show All MySabre Products. Then select SabreScribe Design from the components list, click on Next and follow all of the defaults to install the component. Then proceed to install the Quick=Pro scripts.
- Java issues: You must have a version of Java installed on your computer that is fully compatible with MySabre or you may have problems with using scripts. A typical Java-related problem is when you make an entry in a script window and it is an invalid entry, you will not be able to click back into the box and fix it and you must close out of the scripts. Sabre-supported Java versions are found at the Sabre MyHelp web site. If you click on Test on that web site, you will be shown what version of Java you have and also that it is working properly. If you do not have the correct Java version, then you need to contact the person who provides technical support for your agency. The best plan though is to upgrade to the Sabre Red application, as Sabre Red does not require a specific version of Java to be installed on your computer.
Technical note: Java problems can sometimes be fixed by disabling next generation browsing - instructions are on this web page.
Sabre Red
- For a new Sabre Red install, you must
select Sabre Scripts from the components list when installing. This will install
the Sabre software needed to run the scripts and will create the folder that the
Quick-Pro scripts are copied into.
- If you have not done this, when you try
to execute scripts, you will not see any scripts listed. The best way to install the SabreScribe application is to go to Tools from the Sabre Red application toolbar and select Install Sabre Applications. Then select Sabre Scripts and click on Install.
Windows 7
- There are some secuity settings in Windows 7 that may cause issues with instaling scripts. Please ensure that full admin rights are assigned to the c:\sabre\apps\scribe folder. If there are still issues, please save the install file to your Desktop and then select the option to Run as Administrator. If you are still having issues after trying these steps, then you will need to contract your agency technical support resources since Travleware will be unable to assist in these circumstances.
Insurance Scripts
- Travelware.ca does not provide ANY insurance scripts. Quick-Pro only links to insurance scripts that you have installed that are provided by the insurance vendor.
- RBC Insurance offers their scripts on this website.
